​Ghost festival started around 15 years ago by the students of Shahnewaz Hall, University of Dhaka (as a fun to counter the concept of Valentine’s Day). Students from all departments but mostly the Department of Fine Arts arrange this event on 15th February each year. During this satirical event, students from the Shahnewaz Hall painted and dressed up as different unique, and strange characters and ghosts and decorated the hall area. They also performed different segments of fun and satirical activities on stage during this event. For Corona pandemic, this festival was closed for three years, but it resumed with much joy in 2023.
